The Himalayas act as a natural barrierbetween two climatic regions, India and Central Asia. The Himalayasprevent the cold and dry winds of Central Asia from entering into India. The Himalayas also act as physicalbarrier for rain bearing south-west monsoon winds to cross the northern frontiers of India.

1 . Himalaya obstruct the cold winds coming from Siberia 2. Himalayas also block the rain bearing winds South West monsoon winds from going to China India would be a huge desert if Himalayas are not there. if Himalayas are not there then the cold winds from Siberia would enter to India and India would experience cold and dry winter and hot and dry summer.
