1) Oceans stabilize climates over land. 
2) They are the store house of many chemicals, each of which are useful to humans. 
3) They disperse many plant & animal species from one continent to another,making biota available in various places.many of these plants & animals are used as food,neutraceuticals,& as medicines. 
4) Some boat people constantly live on boate,due to paucity of land in such areas. 
5) They are a source of various types of polymetallic nodules - a resource which can be tapped when such metals get exhausted in land mines. 
6) They are used for landing of certain debris of satellites, & safely pad most of the meteors that come from outer space, as oceans cover more than 75% of Earth's surface.
