In laboratory, we use the Kipp's apparatus for the reaction of metals (mainly zinc) with acids which results in the displacement reaction of the hydrogen containing acid to give out  H<sub >2</sub > gas.

Ie.  H<sub >2</sub >SO<sub >4</sub >  + Zn = Zn(SO <sub >4</sub >) + H<sub >2</sub >
