As the availability of fresh water sources are diminishing, water conservation or save water campaigns are very important so that fresh and clean water is made available to all the people across the world as well as for the future generations.
Causes of Fresh Water Scarcity
Large water bodies are getting polluted on daily basis by the industrial waste materials. The improper waste management has added to the issue. Pesticides and fertilizers have also contaminated water bodies and ground water. Irresponsible use of water and too much of water wastage have also reduced the availability of clean water.
Prevention of Water Scarcity
Proper water management systems should be implemented in all the industries, buildings, apartments, school, hospitals etc to make the efficient use of water without wasting a drop of it.
Awareness programmes should be run to let common people know about the importance of water and how it should be used in a limited quantity without wasting it. The young generation should also work to spread the awareness on saving water.
How I Motivated My Friends To Save Water
Water is life! If there were no water, there would be no life! Do you know all life forms of all species of flora and fauna are able to live because of water?
So it is our responsibility to conserve this life nectar. It is possible only through by changing our outlook towards this wonderful natural resource. We must ensure there is no pollution of water bodies by dumping any waste such as, sewage, effluents, and other toxic substances. We must also ensure there is no emission of green-house gases into the atmosphere. The people and the government must ensure installation of effluents and smoke treatment plants at industrial, garbage, and sewage units.
In order to sensitize people about water conservation, I made a group of my friends named as ‘Water Saviours’. First of all I showed them a Power Point Presentation to explain them how our water resources are being polluted and mismanaged.
The water bodies in the cities are in critical condition. This is because the Government departments and officials who have the responsibility of ensuring their purity have not implemented the environmental protection laws in true spirit. This Water Saviours brigade will go to the government departments and appeal to them to do their job honestly.
This brigade will also go to industries to remind them of their duties about keeping the water bodies unpolluted. The brigade will also go to people to appeal them to conserve water by using it in the best possible manner.
