THANJAVUR: Construction workers stumbled upon two idols near Papanasam in Thanjavur district on Saturday while digging land to construct a house. The idols were of Lord Vishnu and goddess Ambal.According to revenue officials, R Ramalingam, 62, a farmer and resident of Kidangatham village near Papanasam, had commenced work to construct a house on his land. He engaged some worker, who spotted the two idols at about four feet depth. Ramalingam alerted the village administrative officer who in turn informed Papanasam tahsildar Kannan. Kannan arrived at Kidangatham and recovered the idols.
