In polio vaccination, a mild form of microbes of infected polio disease is injected as vaccine into a healthy person. When the immune system of that person first comes in contact with polio microbe, it responds against it, and the next time if that microbe enters the body, the immune system responds to it with even greater vigour. This eliminates the infection more rapidly. This is how immunization occurs.
