Hey dear!
_________

Right to Freedom of Religion (Articles 25-28) is a fundamental right.

India does not have any state or official religion. It can not prefer or favour any specific religion.

By Constitution, India is a secular country because the Indian Constitution says that every person has a. right to profess, practice and propagate the religion as he or she believes in. Every religious group or sect is free to manage its religious affairs.

Article 15 Prohibits discrimination on grounds of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth and therefore no institution run or aided or funded by govt can deny admission only on the grounds of religion.

There is a separation of politics from religion and  Indian govt does not interfere in the religious matters unless it becomes a law and order problem or an obstacle in the practice of the same rights by other communities.

Note: But it is also true that the word "Secular" was added into the preamble by the 42nd Amendment in 1976.
