Nobody invented studies.

The passing of information was probably by oral transmission (like a tutorial) and “study” probably took place when the junior person practiced on their own. We’re talking “prehistoric” times before people’s names were written down.

Over the ages, as the passing of information became institutionalized, this learning and practice began to resemble something like our own, I suppose.
