How is 0.5 mole of NAOH different from 0.5M NAOH?

0.5 mole NaOH means :- 0.5 × 6.023 x 10²³ molecules present in this compound .

mole =weight /molecular wt
but 0.5 M means :- 0.5 mole of NaOH present in one litre of solution . this means strength of NaOH.

molarity = no of mole of solute /volume of solution (L)
