State Raoult’s law for a solution containing two volatile solvents. Give the mathematical expression for the law.

For a solution of volatile liquids the vapour pressure of each volatile component in soln is directly proportional to its mole fraction (in the soln) and expression for the law, p1 = x1 p1° & p2= x2 p2° p1° & p2° are the vapour pressure of the pure comp 1 & 2 ptotal = p1 + p2
