Magnet wire is copper wire with thin enamel insulation, instead of the usual thicker plastic. Both wires are same by conduct, but the magnet copper wire is specially coated with thin and high heat absorbing material. ... It is just plain copperwith a thin enamel coating which acts as an insulator.

Plastic wire is an insulator which don't allow electricity to pass through them where copper wire is conductor which allow electricity to pass through them that's why wire is used in conductivity.
