Ammeter and Voltmeter are used to measure electric current and potential difference respectively but galvanometer is used only to detect whether there is a charge in a circuit and it's direction.

ammeter measure the amount of current

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

voltmeter measure the amount of potential difference

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

galvanometer only deflects when current flow

it is only used for knowing current flow or not

--------------------_------------------------------------_--------------
