how is an egg cell different from an egg form after fertilisation in some animals?

Egg cell or ova is a haploid gamete cell where as egg formed after fertilisation in animals like reptiles and birds is a diploid zygote cell.

The ova or egg cells fuses with the sperm cell to form diploid zygote cell
