The south Indian art is originally called as “Karnataka Sangeetham” . Karnam means ear and atakam means beauty.
Its been now stylised as Carnatic music, since Westerners always convert difficult Sanskrit words to their phonetics for their enunciation.
The art is a fine art which has a rich tradition and history. The classicism of any art if defined which was prevalent from anicent times and maybe for that reason Karnataka Sangeetham is also branded as the Classical music
