A transparent object is a solid. And light behaves differently when it enters a solid. It slows down and gets bent. This process is called refraction. This process occurs whenever light rays travel from one medium to another medium. The difference between the individual density of the two mediums and the angle of incidence decide the amount by which the light rays are bent and the direction towards which they are bent. Hence, the shadow of a transparent solid object is not clear.
