To show the presence of CO2 in laboratory you have to do the following

1)Take freshly prepared limewater

2) Blow in it

3)You will see that it will convert in milky limewater

The Ca(OH) which is transparent when reacts with CO2 turns into CaCO3 which is opaque.

The Reaction is as follows

caoh + co  {}^{2}  = caco {}^{3}
