How is common salt prepared from sea water?

the sea water has a lot of salt dissolved in it.the sea water is taken into a big small edged tray/plate and kept to dry in sunlight.the water evaporates but not the salt as it is heavy and has a higher melting point.so the salt is left behind and it is sent 4 sales

Common salt, when sea water is allowed to stand in shallow pits, water gets evaporated by sunlight and slowly turns into water vapor. In a few days, the water evaporates completely leaving behind the solid salts. Common salt is then obtained from this mixture of salts by further purification
