How is copper extracted from its sulphide ore

Copper is found as Copper Sulphide (Cu2S) in nature.
1)It is first heated in air to get copper oxide.
2Cu2S + 3O2 → 2Cu2O + 2SO2
2)It is then reduced to the corresponding copper metal by the following reaction.
2Cu2O + Cu2S → 6Cu + SO2

the methode used to extract copper from its ore depend on the nature of the ore .
sulphide ore such as chalcopyrite are converted to copper by a defferent methode from silicate , carbonate or sulphate ore
