Two areas of studies namely evolution and classification are interlinked. In fact, classification of organisms is the reflection of their evolutionary relationships. For example, a girl and her brother are more related to each other since they have a common ancestor in the first generation, as compared to the girl and her first cousin.

Classification of organisms is based on proportionate ( relative ) similarities and differences among organisms. resemblances in organisms are because they have arisen from a common ancestor and differences in them are due to adaptations to different types of environment. as the organisms can be graded in order of increasing complexity it refers(indicates) at the concept of evolution.
