Excretion is a process in which waste and toxic products from an organism are expelled out.
Uses of plant excretions:
- Unlike animals, plants do not have a special organ for excretion.
- Organic wastes produced by the plants such as latex, rubber, oil, etc., are helpful to humans.
- Some process involved in excretion of plants includes storing, transpiration, and diffusion.
Example:
- Gaseous products also get released as wastes during photosynthesis and respiration.
- Oxygen released during photosynthesis find its use in respiration by humans and animals.
- Some metabolic wastes are released in the soil by the plants.
