In plants food is transported from leaves to the rest of the plant body with the help of vascular tissues phloem to be specific.
Phloem utilizes the energy found in the form of ATP in cells and create osmotic pressure and transport food from an area of high concentration (leaves) to a an area of lower concentration (stem, roots etc).

Food is transported in plants through the various parts of the plant.
Explanation:
- Transportation of food in plants include a certain process.
- Transportation are playing a very crucial role in transporting various ingredients which are required by plants for the growth of the plants.
- They include nutrients, water, etc. to various parts of the body.
- The process of transportation of food to various parts of the plants from the leaves is called translocation.
Phloem:
- The food which is synthesized is stored by various storage organs which include - stems, fruits, roots, etc.
- Phloem which is the vascular tissue, helps in the transportation of the synthesized food.
- It is transported from the leaves to various storage organs.
- It is the complex permanent tissue which is present in all the vascular plants.
- Various elements of Phloem consists of phloem parenchyma, phloem fibers, companion cells, and sieve tubes.
- It is bidirectional way the transportation of food in plants takes place i.e. it can be either way in both upward and downward directions.
- For the process of translocation to occur ATP is very essential.
