How is green manure prepared?when is it added to the crop plant?What is the advantage of this type of manure?

It is made by dumping a few peels of vegetables and fruits,they leave for a few days and it converts into manure.It is added to the plants so that the nutrients increases and it is cheap and it doesn't causes pollution.It is added when the plant needs nutrients.

Manures are natural fertilizers. They are bulky source of organic matter which supply nutrients in small quantities, and organic matter in large quantities. Any type of Manures such as (FYM), compost, green manures, vermicompost, etc. are prepared by the decomposed animal excreta and plant waste. The practice of green manuring includes growing, mulching by ploughing and mixing of green crops with soil, to improve physical structure and soil fertility. It tends to provide protection against erosion and leaching. They are added in the crop plants in the deficiency of plant nutrients and organic matter.
