As air temperature increases, air can hold more water molecules, and its relative humidity decreases. When temperatures drop, relative humidity increases. High relative humidity of the air occurs when the air temperature approaches the dew point value.

EXAMPLE :

  • People rely on the air to help our sweat evaporate, which thus helps cool us down in hot weather. High levels of humidity stop our sweat from being able to evaporate, and therefore we feel much hotter than we might otherwise at that temperature.
