Illiteracy is responsible for poverty as:

1. People are liable to be exploited

2. Unemployment increases as almost all jobs require skilled labour

3. Also illiterate parents don't understand the importance of education and don't educate their children

Hello friend ,

In the information economy, illiteracy leads to poverty much more readily than it did in the industrial economy. And literacy can contribute positively to the quality of life of an individual for which reason it is considered a basic human right...

hope helped !! :)
