how is illliteracy is major concern in functioning of democracy

illiteracy is another factor which is posing a challenge to indian democracy.An illiterate person has no knowledge of his rights and duties.He is not able to understand the problems of the country and their solutions.He is not in the position to even cast his vote independently and judiciosly.It is really unfortunate that even after more than 60 years  after india achieved its independence,about 40% are still illiterate.

illiteracy causes many problems in the functioning of democracy for example it makes the people not understand of their own rights and people are not able to make their perfect choice is also parties keep changing their parties that is they have confused the waters and illiterate people are able to make better decisions that non literate people
