Pie is an irrational number.
Usually we take the value of pie to be 22/7.
BUT
When we divide 22 by 7 it gives the quoteint in decimal expansion as non terminating or non recurring.
So, 22/7 is an approximate value of pie.
The decimal representation of pie is 3.141592.....
That' why we take pie as an irrational number.
