The factor by which the kinetic energyof a moving body changes when its speed is reduced to half. A body ofmass 50 kg has a momentum of 3000 kg ms-1. ... The ratio of its initialkinetic energy and final kinetic energy,if the mass of the body is doubled andits velocity is halved will be.

kinetic energy= ½mv²

if mass double

KE= ½ 2m v²
= mv²
KE doubles

if velocity reduce to half

KE= ½ m v²/4
= ⅛mv²

KE reduces by ¼
