after an incubation period - usually of up to 18 days - you will start to feel flu-like symptoms such as headaches, sweats, chills and vomiting. Other possible symptoms include muscle pains and diarrhoea.

In some cases victims will undergo periodic fevers, with intense spells where the victim feels very cold and then very hot in cycles of four to eight hours.malaria infected  by female anopheles mosquitoes.

If left untreated malaria can lead to more serious complications such as breathing problems, organ failure and eventually death.
