Melamine

It is also called cyanuramide or triaminotriazine.

It is colourless , crystalline substance in nature.

It belongs to the family of heterocyclic organic compounds, which are used principally as a starting material for the manufacture of synthetic resins.

It can be manufactured from dicyandiamide, hydrogen cyanide, or urea.

In the formation of Melamine urea is the starting material.

Urea will be broken down to cyanuric acid, which then can be reacted to form melamine.

Most important reaction in the formation of Melamine is the formation of melamine-formaldehyde resins of high molecular weight.

Then the process of thermosetting is done .

Now our melamine is prepared .
