Nuclear energyoriginates from the splitting of uranium atoms – a process called fission. This generates heat to produce steam, which is used by a turbine generator to generate electricity. Because nuclear power plants do not burn fuel, they do not produce greenhouse gas emissions.

Nuclear energy is produced when nucleons ( particles which are present inside the Nucleous i.e, Protons and Neutrons) either splits or gets combined together....Tremedous amount of Heat energy is then relesed when this happens...

As energy is relesed from the nucleous...so called nuclear energy...But remember that energy is nothing just a Heat...

Actually Nuclear energy is released by the process of fusion and fission...

Fission is the process of splitting nucleons from the nucleous whereas Fusion is a process of combining two or more nucleons...In both process , tremendous amount of Nuclear energy is released....
