The two main gases exchanged are oxygen and carbon-dioxide. Oxygen is absorbed by the blood capillaries from the lungs alveoli by diffusion while carbon-dioxide is absorbed by the lungs alveoli from blood capillaries by diffusion. ... ■the o2 and co2 are transfered in the human body with the help of hemoglobin present in the RBC.

■the hemoglobin takes o2 from alveoli to all the cells in the body to cellular respiration and take away co2 to the capillaries for the exchange of o2 and co2 again in alveoli.
