It is very complicated, but I would try to explain. Some theories say that there was no matter in the begining except a particle of a size of hydrogen atom. The particle possessed tremendous infinite amount of energy. As the particle was smaller in size the energy it contained was necessary to sustain so it increased in size of tennis ball when finally the particle didn't bear extreme energy it exploded and thus to sustain that energy the universe was formed.
