Oxygen and carbon dioxide are transported in our body through blood . Haemoglobin is a very important component of blood that helps in the transportation of O2 and CO2. Firstly oxygen is taken by our lungs that goes to alveoli . As alveoli are surrounded by blood capillaries, there occurs diffusion of oxygen from alveoli to blood capillaries . Then this oxygen mixes with blood to make it oxyhaemoglobin . Then this oxyhaemoglobin goes to tissues then to cells . Here , from blood oxygen is taken and is used by mitochondria in cell to breakdown glucose into carbon dioxide , water and energy . From here , CO2 is then taken by blood to blood capillaries where again there occurs diffusion from blood capillaries to alveoli and at the end it is respired out from our body ...
