Ozone is formed in the statosphere-

Highly energetic ultraviolet radiations from the sun breaks the oxygen molecules into two oxygen atoms. This chemical reaction is called photodissociation or photolysis.
The highly reactive oxygen atom can react with oxygen molecule to form ozone.
