Poverty leads to discrimination:

  • Poverty may comes in many ways economic deprivation, low caste, low income, status etc..,
  • Poverty is mainly shortage of resources and illiteracy, housing, mal-and under nutrition and increased susceptibility of diseases.

Major psychological effects of poverty and deprivation:

  • The poor and deprived leads to low-self esteem, introversion, live only in present rather than future, high anxiety.
  • They face hopelessness, powerlessness, experience power of injustice, loss of identity.
  • Their mental health will be disturbed and mental disorder will lead to unquestionable relationship.
