Power can be shared between political parties in the following ways:
1. Democracy contests election every 5 years and voters are provided a wide variety of choice. The party with the majority votes wins. Hence, Elections ensure that power does not remain in the hand of only one party.
2. The party which loses the elections forms the opposition party. It checks on the functioning of ruling party and criticize them for their wrong actions.
3. Many Parties can come together to form a alliance by which they can get the support of maximum people. Alliances are usually formed before the election.
4. If any party does not get a majority in elections, then two or more parties may come together to form a coalition government. In this, every party has a equal share of power. Coalition are always formed after the election.
