By division of labour in multicellular organisms it attains efficiency and metabolism rate will high . Due to the karyoplasmic (nucleus/ cytoplasm) ratio higher the size of cell the metabolism rate will slow . SO in multicellular organisms it is not made from a single large cell . and rather they are made from trillions of small cells which will help in division of labour different cell for different function .
