Regeneration of the environment is important and useful for the following reasons:

For the Oxygen that we breathe.

• Regeneration increases the plant growth on landscapes which ensure that there is plenty of oxygen in the atmosphere for us to breath.  

It promotes sustainable food production

• Regeneration helps in promoting sustainable food production by using organic fertilizers instead of chemical fertilizers. This also ensure healthy soil and a healthy ecosystem.  

It promotes the production of Healthier food

• Due to the emphasis on sustainable development, regeneration of landscapes ensures healthy crop production which are rich in all type of nutrients.  

It helps in reducing poverty, starvation, and disease in developing countries

• Reversing desertification and regenerating landscapes helps in elevating human sufferings by reducing poverty, starvation and incidences of diseases in developing countries.  

It helps in reducing drought and water shortages

• Regenerating landscape improve the water holding capacity of soil, thus mitigating the effect of drought. This also help in regenerating aquifers and providing surface water even when there is no rain.
