Chromosomal sex is determined at the time of fertilization; a chromosome from the sperm cell, either X or Y, fuses with the X chromosome in the egg cell. Gonadal sex refers to the gonads, that is the testis or ovaries, depending on which genes are expressed.

Hope this helps!♡

In human beings, sex is determined by the sex chromosomes as the human body contains 23 pairs of chromosomes in each cell in which one pair is known as the sex chromosome.

The female human body contains only XX chromosomes while the male human body contains XY chromosomes.

At the time of fertilization when female’s ‘x’ chromosomes combine with male’s ‘x’ chromosomes then it results in a baby girl and when female’s ‘x’ chromosomes combine with male’s ‘y’ chromosomes then it results in a baby boy.
