The skin of amphibians is moist because they have mucus glands present on their skin. They secrete mucus which help them to keep their skin moist and to breath from the skin.

Skin that is especially thin and moist in the  majority of amphibians, whether a toad, frog or almost any other creature in between. The thin skin isn't without an important reason, however. It actually serves a very important purpose that involves amphibians' respiratory functioning. Damp skin also serves its own important, hydration-related purpose.
