small intestine

the site of complete digestion of proteins, fats, carbohydrates. food is released into small intestine from stomach in small amounts by spinchter muscle , for digestion it receives secretions from pancreas and liver, as food is in acidic medium so it needs to be made alkaline for the pancreatic enzymes to act so liver secretes bile juice which makes medium alakline, it also helps in emulsification of fats, then pancreas secretes p.amylase for digestion of starch, p.lipase for digestion of fats, pepsin for digestion of proteins finally carbohydrates is converted into starch, protein into amino acids, and fat into fatty acids and glycerol
