Explanation:

Artificial reproduction/propagation is the creation of a new life by other than the natural means available to an organism. The process of growing many plants from one plant by man-made methods is called artificial propagation of plants. The types f three artificial methods of propagation is:

Layering: In this method, the young branch is bent and pressed into moist soil. After some time the roots develop from the covered part. This method is used to propagate plants like jasmine, black raspberries, etc.

Cutting: In this method, a healthy young branch with a few nodes and internodes is cut off and most of its leaves are removed. The cutting will them develop roots and grow into a new plant. This method is used to propagate plants like rose, sugarcane and pineapple.

Grafting: In this method, a twig is or bud plant called scion is inserted or tied over the stem part called stock. Wax is applied to stop the infection. The tissues of the stock and scion join together to form one new plant. Plants like tomato, mango, watermelon, etc are grown by grafting method.

Answer: Artificial reproduction is the creation of new life by other than the natural means available to an organism. Examples include artificial insemination, in vitro fertilization, cloning and embryonic splitting, or cleavage. Cutting plants' stems and placing them in compost is also a form of artificial reproduction.
