Genotype of plant can be determined by test -cross.

In this method heterozygous of F1 and F2 is crossed with homozygous double recessive parents.

Hope it will help you...

Hey mate.

First, cross the purple-flowering plant with a white-flowering plant. If the offspring produced by the cross include white-flowering plants, then the plant in question is heterozygous for flower color.

The way to tell for certain which genotype the purple flowering plant possesses is to do what's called a "test cross", crossing the unknown plant with the dominant trait with one which is recessive and growing the offspring to flowering.

If the purple parent was PP, all the offspring will be heterozygous (Pp) and will have purple flowers:

......|..P..|..P..|
..p..|..Pp.|.Pp.|
..p..|..Pp.|.Pp.|

If the purple parent was heterozygous (Pp) half of the offspring will be purple and half white:

......|..P..|..p..|
..p..|..Pp.|.pp.|
..p..|..Pp.|.pp.|

Hope it helps i❤✌
