Law of conservation of mass: This law states that the total mass in a chemical reaction remains constant that is the total mass on the reactant side will be equal to the total mass on the product side in a chemical reaction.

Now, in a chemical reaction:

CaCl_2(s)+Na_2SO_4(aq.)\rightarrow 2NaCl(aq.)+CaSO_4(aq.)CaCl2​(s)+Na2​SO4​(aq.)→2NaCl(aq.)+CaSO4​(aq.)

\text{Mass on reactant side}=\text{Mass of }CaCl_2+\text{Mass of }Na_2SO_4Mass on reactant side=Mass of CaCl2​+Mass of Na2​SO4​

\text{Mass of }CaCl_2=40+(2\times 35.5)=111amuMass of CaCl2​=40+(2×35.5)=111amu

\text{Mass of }Na_2SO_4=(2\times 23)+32+(4\times 16)=142amuMass of Na2​SO4​=(2×23)+32+(4×16)=142amu

Mass of the reactant = 253 amu.
