How is the ozone layer protecting life on Earth? Why is this layer a cause for worry? How high above is it located?
Answers
Answer:
The ozone layer is protecting the life on Earth, it surrounds the Earth and prevent the UV rays coming from the Sun from entering into the Earth. If the UV rays enter our planet it will cause problems like, Skin Cancer and irrelevant structure and shape of the fruits, etc.,
This layer is a cause of worry because, some of the harmful chemical gases like Carbon-dioxide (CO2) , Carbon -monoxide (CO)., are making some spots rather holes on the Ozone layer from where the UV rays can enter our planet and cause some problems.
It's height is between 15 to 35 km above the Earth surface.
Answer:
The ozone layer lies 25 kilometres above the surface of the earth and is known as the Ozonosphere. The ozone layer shields the earth and protects lives from the lethal ultraviolet (UV) radiation of the Sun. The increase of pollutants in the atmosphere is depleting this crucial layer of ozone. This will lead to increase in cases of skin cancer worldwide.
