Mercy is more potent than the power of a king’s scepter; it is in a just and wise king’s heart.  With the power of scepter a king might make people bow, but with mercy only hearts can be won. The quality of mercy enhances the beauty and grace of a monarch more than his costliest crown. Mercy is a divine quality that makes its possessor godlike.
