We tried building housing projects in the 1960s. They became centers of dysfunction, crime and drugs. An epic fail by liberals producing even more poor and generational poverty. This hit the black community/family very hard.

We currently have subsidised housing aka rent payment or assistance. Trump had Ben Carson set up and expand “enterprise zones” to promote businesses and jobs in very low income communities. It has worked but we need far more. Perhaps our social justice signalling corporations can contribute to that rather than BLM, the left wing organization that wants to defund the police and promote gthe LGBTQ agenda.

The underlying problem is that most people are poor NOT because they have no money but because they make poor choices and had poor role models. They need courses on money management, job skills, birth control, parenting and then as a reward, perhaps part ownership in a small house or apartment. When people have skin in the game, they make better choices
