How is the small intestine designed to absorb digested food?

Hey.. I think this can be ur answer!!

The walls of small intestine has small finger like projections known as villi which are richly supplied with blood capillaries..
The digested food is absorbed by villi and passed on to blood which then circulates it through out the body!!

The small intestinehas millions of tinyfinger-like projections called villi. These villi increase the surface area for more efficient food absorption. Within these villi, many blood vessels are present that absorb the digested food and carry it to the blood stream.
