The small intestine is designed by various numbers of villi for the absorption of food by increasing surface area. They contain blood vessels which take up the nutrients to the blood.

small intestine have many of the finger like projection on their surface called villi which increase the surface area for maximum absorption.that's how villi facilitate absorption and as designed to absorb maximum digested food
