The sleep of the poet in the valley is his final sleep. In other words, the poet is lying dead in the valley and nothing including the humming insects can wake him up from this sleep.

The young soldier is lying open-mouthed with the smile of an infant on his face making it appear as if he is enjoying a blissful sleep. His head is resting on a fern pillow while he is lying on a bed made of warm green grass. One hand is resting on his breast where he has been shot twice.

The soldier was lying in the valley taking his least breath he was dead in the valley . But still he had the smile just like a innocent one’s as he was actually happy about all the things in the sleep. He was lying with the hand on the front side of the body where got the injuries and was really lying on the green grass as his bed and the head was using the fern as pillow. And this young soldier was  lying peacefully under the sunlight

This question is actually the from the poem “ Asleep in the valley”
